Theresa Bhavan

Theresa Bhavan is a Psycho-social rehabilitation centre under Immanuel Charitable Trust at Vembuva, Payyavoor. Established on 31 st January 2012 the trust was registered under Indian Trust Act of 1882. Theresa Bhavan is registered under Persons with Disability Act of 1995 with the Social Justice Department of the state government with registration no. SJD/3135/2022-RPWD1. The organization is also recognized by the Board of Control for Orphanages and Other Charitable Homes vide its recognition number 1501. The organization has the capacity to accommodate 75 inmates and often we are forced to go beyond our capacity due to high demand. Theresa Bhavan provides necessary facilities like food, clothing, health care and shelter to the needy people who are abandoned by the families and society.

Objectives

  • To give treatment and to rehabilitate wandering mentally ill destitute
  • To provide care, love, food, dress, accommodation and treatment to the wandering physically and mentally ill persons
  • To provide vocational training skills and to rehabilitate those who have recovered from their illness
  • To find out their native place and send them back to rejoin their families if their close relatives can be traced
  • To ensure them lifelong care and rehabilitation, if their homes cannot be traced in any manner
  • To take care of the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of such wandering people
  • To establish clinics, health centers or hospitals for the treatment of poor and neglected physically and mentally ill persons
  • To provide life ling care for mentally challenged persons in case their family members are unable to give proper care
  • To establish homes for orphans, and senior citizens whose family finds it difficult to protect them
  • To give financial assistance for the education of orphans and children of mentally ill persons
  • To give support to economic backward families for the marriage of girl children
  • To undertake any other activity which will help the growth of poor and neglected
  • To collaborate with like minded trusts and organizations
  • To serve the people of all background irrespective of their religion, caste, colour, language or place of birth
  • To receive donations grants, or subsidies from central or state government for improving the living conditions of the poor and neglected
